Outbound Messages

You can send a direct message to users that follow you. You can send a direct message to one user at a time. You will not be able to send a direct message to users that have blocked you, do not follow you, or have chosen not to receive messages.

To send a direct message, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: While logged into your account, navigate to the bottom right of your Home Feed and click the Messages tab.

Step 2: Click the circular coral button with the white envelope in the bottom right corner to open a new message.

Step 3: Search the name of the user you want to private message.
Note: If a user does not appear when you search for their name, you are not authorized to send them a direct message.

Step 4: Click their name or avatar to begin the message.

Step 5: Compose your text-only message and click the purple send button.

To see the status of your message, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: While logged into your account, navigate to the bottom right of your Home Feed and click the Messages tab.

Step 2: Choose the chat for which you want to interact.

Step 3: Locate the message for which you want to see the status.

• A timestamp will appear below a message if it was sent successfully.
• When the person reads the message, the purple check in a circle icon below the message will fill with purple.

Step 4: If your message does not send successfully, choose Resend.
