Inbound Messages

A user can send you a direct message if you are following them.

A user cannot send you a direct message if you do not follow them, you have blocked them, or you have disabled receiving new chats.

Note: If you turn off receiving new chats, a user may still message you if you are in an existing chat with that user.

To accept a new message request, follow these steps:

Step 1: While logged into your account, navigate to the bottom right of your Home Feed and click the Messages tab.

Step 2: Look for new messages indicated by a coral dot on the right-hand side.

Step 3: You will be notified that a user wants to start a conversation with you. Choose Accept to begin a chat with them. Choose Leave if you prefer not to chat.

Step 4: Respond to the direct message by composing your text-only message and click the purple button to send.
