How do Alerts work?

Stay updated with mentions, follows, retruths, subscriptions, and group alerts.

Alert Tabs

The Alerts tab helps you keep track of important activity related to your account, posts, and groups. Everything is organized into different tabs at the top of the screen to make it easy to find what you're looking for.

At the top of the Alerts screen, you'll see several tabs that organize your activity:

  • All shows every alert in one place.
  • Mentions includes alerts when someone mentions you or your posts. You can filter this tab to show mentions from anyone or just from users you follow.
  • Reactions covers alerts when someone likes your post or upvotes a group truth.
  • Retruths displays alerts when someone retruths your posts, whether from your profile or a group.
  • Subscriptions includes alerts from accounts and groups you subscribe to, as well as Breaking News sent by Truth Social.
  • Follows shows alerts when someone follows you and offers a quick way to follow them back.
  • Admin is for group owners and moderators. It shows alerts about new join requests for any groups you manage.

Alerts Settings

In the top-right corner of the Alerts screen, you'll find a settings icon. Tapping it takes you to a page where all alert categories are listed.

The All and Mentions tabs are always visible and cannot be removed or reordered. You'll notice their pin icons are shaded and cannot be unpinned. The categories below—Reactions, Retruths, Subscriptions, Follows, and Admin—can be added to your Alerts screen by tapping the pin icon next to each one. Once the pin is shaded, that category will appear in your alerts view. To reorder the tabs, long press (or click) the stacked horizontal lines next to a category, then drag it into your desired position.

At the bottom of this screen, you’ll see a "Show breaking news alerts" toggle. Turning this off will stop breaking news alerts from showing in your Alerts tab.
